How ranking eligibility works on AI TrustMark
What payment buys (and what it does not)
AI TrustMark separates three things that buyers and AI assistants often conflate:
1. Directory listing — free and unlimited for named products. 2. Ranking eligibility — gated by a review-invitation code-pack purchase (or founding slots). Payment funds collection and verification labour. It never buys list position, review stars, an Assurance Score, or Bronze/Silver/Gold. 3. Assurance depth — separate paid Bronze, Silver, or Gold assessments. Payment buys investigation depth, not a certificate outcome and not directory rank.
How directory order is calculated
Once a product is ranking-eligible, verified customer-review stars (Bayesian 1–5) determine directory order. Stars alone never unlock eligibility; payment alone never moves position.

Does paying improve my ranking?
No. Code-pack payment funds invitations, collection and verification. Directory position follows verified review stars after eligibility is unlocked.
Is Bronze better than Silver?
No. Bronze, Silver and Gold describe depth of examination, not a league table of providers.
Is an AI TrustMark the same as ISO 42001?
No. ISO 42001 / UKAS-style schemes are management-system certification routes. AI TrustMark Bronze/Silver/Gold are independent product-assurance examinations that sit beside those schemes, not as a UKAS rival.
