The Arthur Platform is an evaluation and monitoring platform for machine learning, generative AI and AI agent applications, covering pre-production evals, runtime guardrails and always-on production monitoring. For generative AI it tracks hallucination rates, toxicity, PII and sensitive data, token use and model cost; for agents it measures groundedness, tool selection and response relevance with trace visualisation and custom LLM-judge evals; and for traditional models it covers drift, accuracy and classification metrics. Arthur uses a data plane and control plane design: its evals engine runs inside the customer's own environment so inference data stays in their VPC, and only anonymised metrics flow to Arthur's control plane for dashboards, alerts, RBAC and SSO.

Arthur Engine is the self-hosted evaluation and guardrails component of the Arthur Platform, deployed in a customer's own AWS or Kubernetes environment next to their AI workloads. It handles tracing of LLM and agent calls, prompt management and experiments, offline and continuous evaluations, RAG and agentic experiments, and guardrail rules for hallucination, prompt injection, toxicity, sensitive data and PII leakage, plus custom rules. Arthur's documentation lists integrations with OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, Google ADK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, LiteLLM and the OpenAI Agents SDK, and the engine can also act as an OpenTelemetry sink for agent discovery.
